The October 2026 FCC Calendar

October begins a new fiscal year for the FCC board of directors, and for all of us it's time to rev up plans for fall activities and Christmas celebrations. You may have noticed that the new digital sign facing Kentucky Street has been installed, but is not operational yet because it was damaged in transit. It will be fixed or replaced soon. We still have some payments left, so any donations are appreciated. We also have a couple of big events this month. Our rummage sale and fall festival are fundraisers in some ways, but no one has to pay to get in and have a good time with us. Just drop by and see what we're all about, because we're always open to meeting new friends! Feel free to send the link to this calendar to anyone who would be interested in coming. The posters for these events are available at our Facebook group, if you share things that way. Who knows? Your internet friends might find a church they can call home.

The FCC Bell Choir is now meeting every Sunday afternoon for practice. You're welcome to join, just talk to Lee Ann.

Elders for the month of October will be Elaine Wilson and Bertha Prewitt, and the deacons will be Ben and Roseanna Morris, Jerry Blankenship, and Caroline Mahan.

Sunday, October 4th will be the day for our elders meeting after church.

Wednesday, October 7th, Faith Quest resumes after a two week hiatus. All young folks are invited to participate every Wednesday at 6PM.

The FCC Fall Rummage Sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 9th and 10th. Please bring your still good but personally unneeded items to the fellowship hall ahead of those dates. We will need lots of help that week setting up the sale, work days to be announced, or ask Deanna. Tell everyone you know to come and find bargains!

On Sunday, October 11th, the worship service will include an ordination ceremony for our new elders, John and Patty Crawford. We will also have a board meeting after the service, which will begin the board year. The new officers are the same as our current officers (they did a good job), so they will simply begin their second term.

The Fall Festival will be held on Wednesday, October 28th, beginning at 5:30. There will be plenty of food, games, and contests for the kids and for adults as well! There's no trunk-or-treat this year, but kids can come in costume and find plenty of candy. Dinner will be hot dogs will all the fixings. The evening will conclude with our annual Cake Auction. There's a signup sheet in the narthex to bring food and volunteer to run games. Bring a cake and some cash for the auction!

Looking ahead to November, All Saints Day is on Sunday, November first. That's when we remember those who passed into heaven over the past year. Notify Paula to make sure your loved one is on the list of those to be honored during the service.

Operation Christmas Child boxes need to be filled and ready early in November, as they are collected for shipment before Thanksgiving. If you can donate items for the boxes, ask Bailee what is still needed. Money is always a good idea.
