We've still got three weeks of summer, but the act of turning the calendar page to September means we can dream of cooler temperatures in autumn, which begins September 22nd. Bailee is really looking to the future, and encourages everyone to start collecting gift items for Operation Christmas Child. Boxes will be sent in November, but school supplies are on sale right now.
Elders for September will be Mike Lewis and Denise Holly. Deacons will be Joyce Brown, Deanna Darr, Robert Bales, and Zoie Burke.
But first, let's finish up the month of August. Sunday, August 30th is the fifth Sunday, so Rev. Ronnie Mitchell will bring the message for the worship service. Afterward, we will have a potluck lunch in the fellowship hall. Lunch is free, and we will be taking donations for the new church sign, so give what you can.
After the potluck, Lee Ann wants to meet with bell choir members and anyone who wants to join. Remember, if you can count, you can play bells!

Wednesday, September 2 is the opening day for Faith Quest! The program will begin at 6PM, and there will be no meal served this week, so grab supper before you come. Invite any school age child you know, because it's going to be a great year!
Sunday, September 6th, we will have an elders meeting after worship service.
Monday, September 7th is Labor Day, so the FCC office will be closed.
Sunday, September 13th is the day for the monthly board meeting.
Looking ahead to October, the date for our fall rummage sale will be announced soon. Meanwhile, find all the stuff you don't need that someone else might want, and bring it to the fellowship hall stage.
On another note, we need more people to contribute to the FCC website. If you want to share your testimony, a personal story, a meditation on your faith journey, a remembrance of the past, pictures, thoughts on a Bible passage, poetry, prayers, or a tribute to someone else, I would love to post it. Remember, you don't have to be a good writer, since I can proofread and even edit as necessary. I can even write it for you, if you just want to talk about an idea.
