June 2026 at FCC
With school out and people traveling, June is the quietest time of the year at FCC. Wednesday night Bible study and Faith Quest are on hiatus until August. It's a good time for reflection and planning for the rest of the year. One of the things we are working on is a revamp of our youth programs, which we are all excited about -more details to come. We have also decided to purchase a new, digital sign to replace the marquee. A vendor and price have yet to be determined, but w

Sermon: The Message of the Apostate
Pastor Tibbs' sermon for May 24th at FCC is titled The Message of the Apostate. It is part of a series called Foundations Under Attack. The relevant scripture is Jude 16-19. 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. 17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you th

Congratulations to Our 2026 Graduates!
May marks the end of the school year, and for some, the end of school as they know it. As one phase of life ends, another always begins. The FCC family has a bumper crop of young people taking a step from one school into another or into a career in the wider world. Three young ladies graduated from Corbin High School on Sunday, May 17th. Two others received graduate degrees from the University of the Cumberlands on May first. Yes, we are proud of all of them. Together we cele

On Mother's Day
Beloved, as we celebrate Mother's Day this month, I want to share with you a wonderful poem I came across several years ago entitled The Meanest Mother by Bobbie Pingaro. This so serves as a step back into time as I reflect on how my home was run as well by my mother as well. The following is that wonderful article. The Meanest Mother I had the meanest mother in the whole world. While other kids ate candy for breakfast, I had to have cereal, eggs or toast. When others had cok

Sermon: Hidden Rocks and Wandering Stars
Pastor Tibbs' sermon for May 3rd is titled Hidden Rocks and Wandering Stars. The relevant scripture is Jude 12-13 (Jude, the penultimate book of the Bible, has only one chapter, so these are the verses). 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming

Rummage Sale Preview
The spring rummage sale at FCC is this Friday and Saturday, 9AM to 4 PM each day. I thought I'd be proactive and take a few pictures of the rummage sale items Wednesday morning to show you what's available. I knew that would be incomplete, because more stuff comes in every day. Boy, that's the truth! By the time Wednesday night Bible study rolled around, there was a lot more, but I didn't have my camera with me. There are a ton of dishes, as always, and clothing of all kinds.

Sermon: Wolves in Sheep's Clothing
Pastor Tibbs' FCC sermon for April 26th is titled Wolves in Sheep's Clothing. The relevant scripture is Jude 5-11. Note: Jude only has one chapter, so these are verses. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under d
