November 2 is the date that Daylight Saving Time ends. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour Saturday night before you go to sleep, or else you will be an hour early for church! This is not as problematic as being an hour late, as can happen in the spring, but you may as well sleep a little later.

November 2 is also All Saint's Day at FCC. This is a day set aside to honor those who have passed on over the past year. Make sure your family members and friends are included by contacting the church office beforehand.

November 3 will be a work day, to begin setting up and sorting rummage sale items. We will also need help setting up the harvest cornucopia.

November 5th (Wednesday) Bible study resumes after a couple of weeks off.

November 7th and 8th (Friday and Saturday) are the dates for our fall rummage sale! Bring your donated items, and come by mornings that week to help set up. The sale will run from 9AM to 4PM each day. Proceeds will go to our charitable outreach.

November 9th, we have a board meeting. This one is important, because we have lots of plans to set in place for our many Christmas activities.

November is time for Operation Christmas Child. Our Faith Quest youth will be filling boxes on November 12th or 19th (or both), so if you have any donations to add to those boxes, please bring them in early. The boxes will be blessed and dedicated on Sunday, November 23rd.

November 26: There will be no Faith Quest or Bible study due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

November 30 will open the Christmas season with the first Sunday of Advent. The Hanging of the Greens ceremony will take place during the worship service.

Check the Facebook page for work days that will be scheduled to prepare for the rummage sale, and switching out fall decorations for Christmas decorations.

Looking forward to December (dates are tentative):

December 1 (Monday) we will present our annual organ concert! After it was cancelled last year, we are very happy to bring you Christmas music on our newly-repaired and refurbished pipe organ. We hope to have three or four guest organists, plus our own organist, pianist, and bell choir performing. The performance will be followed by a reception in the Buttermore lounge.

December 6th will be the date for our annual Christmas Luncheon and Bazaar. Craft vendors are urged to call the church office to reserve your table.

This post may be updated to reflect changes as they occur.
