What's Happening in May at FCC

May is a time to celebrate beautiful new beginnings. This month, we have a bridal shower, a baby dedication, and graduates! Jessie Bryana Robinson has earned a Master's Degree in Justice Administration from the University of the Cumberlands. Audrey Mahan is graduating from Corbin High School, ranked second in the class of 2026! She plans to major in pre-med at the University of Kentucky. Congratulations all around!

Elders for the month of May will be Rick Strunk and Bertha Prewitt. Deacons will be Ben and Roseanna Morris, Deanna Darr, and Caroline Mahan.

The University of the Cumberlands has been supplying volunteers for the Corbin Community Backpack Program, but they are all going home this weekend. This means we need to step up and help pack take-home bags of food for younger students for the rest of the school year. If you can help, please come on Monday evenings at 5:30 to the backpack house behind the church, on the corner of First and Poplar Streets. We need 13-15 volunteers each Monday until the end of school.

Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2, are the dates for our spring rummage sale in the fellowship hall. Doors will be open from 9AM to 4PM. Proceeds will fund several upcoming church projects.

Sunday, May 3rd will be the day for an elder's meeting.

Wednesday, May 6th: Adult Bible study at 6PM. Faith Quest is over for the year, and will return when school begins in August.

All friends are invited to a graduation party for Audrey Mahan on Saturday, May 9th from 6-8 at the church.

Sunday, May 10th is Mother's Day. Worship service will include a baby dedication ceremony for Weston Moore, son of Andy and Bailee Moore. We will also recognize graduating senior Audrey Mahan, who will receive her diploma from Corbin High School on May 17th. Due to the holiday, the board meeting is postponed for a week.

Wednesday, May 13th is the last night of adult Bible study for the summer. Both Wednesday night programs will resume in August when school is back in session.

On Sunday, May 17th, there will be a board meeting after church.

Saturday, May 30th, we will host a bridal and housewarming shower for newlyweds Chris and Katelynn Strunk from noon until two in the fellowship hall.
