The Worship Service Was Different

The FCC sermon was not recorded on video August 9th because everything about the service was different. We went into it thinking it was an emergency workaround, and came out of it feeling blessed.
We knew many people would be missing because of scheduled vacation trips. But others were out due to sudden illnesses or utility problems. And something had happened in the building. Maybe a storm had tripped some circuit breakers, and the result was that the air conditioning had been turned off and the sanctuary was way too hot. Alex got it working, but there wasn't enough time to cool that large area before worship service. But where there is a will, there's a way. We held the service in the smaller downstairs chapel.

Patty took care of all the details of setting up communion, hymnals, extra chairs, etc. Alex brought down a backup sound system. And we were glad to see Ronnie Mitchell back with us! The chapel has one piano, so Bobbie and Frances played it together- no notice, no practice. The music was lovely and lively, and everyone sitting so close together sang their hearts out.

The sermon was titled Reasons for Holy Living! In case you want to keep up, the relevant scripture was 1 Peter 1: 13-21.

Sure, it was different, but it was nice. We should do that again sometime.
Be sure to keep Mike Lewis and Betty Gill in your prayers. Bertha Prewitt, too. All need a healing touch.
