Every Homecoming service involves preparations, from planning the service to inviting friends to organizing a feast. This year, however, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of our church building at First and Kentucky Streets. Therefore, we want the building itself to look its best. The first order of events was the 99-year-old pipe organ, which quit working almost a year ago. A massive fundraising and repair project has been going on ever since.

At the same time, we did various remediation work throughout the building.

Even places you don't normally see were refreshed.

Some projects involved professionals, while others were a labor of love. Some were a joint effort, since dedicated non-professionals can be pretty good at destruction. One example is the replacement of the carpet on two staircases.

There's a job for everyone in this project. Others are planning the worship service, organizing the banquet, setting up a history museum, practicing music, and a hundred other things that will go into this year's Homecoming. Get your RSVPs into the office, and invite everyone you know to join us on September 28th for the FCC Homecoming celebration!
