Homecoming preparations are continuing, so there will be meetings scheduled for sprucing up the church, setting up the history museum and fellowship hall, and rehearsing some elements of the service. Also, there is a signup sheet in the narthex for deacons to serve each month for the year beginning in October. We need four people for each month. If you don't pick two months to serve, you will be assigned as needed.

September 5 (Friday) was to be the youth lock-in event, but that has been postponed until Christmas break. Contact Hilary Baker for more details.

September 7 Elder's meeting.

September 8-9-10 New carpet will be installed on the stairs.

September 10 (Wednesday) Faith Quest begins for the year. Bring your children, your grandchildren, your brothers and sisters, or your neighbors! Dinner is at 5:30. We need volunteers to bring food for each week going forward.

September 14 is when Pastor Tibbs will begin leading a new Sunday School class at 9:30. Don't miss it! Come early for coffee and donuts.

September 14 Board meeting. We will elect church officers for the year starting in October. We still don't have any candidates for the office of secretary, so think about whether this is a chance for you to serve.

September 17 is the beginning of Wednesday night adult Bible study for the year. Pastor Tibbs will continue our study on the book of Romans, chapter three if you want to read up ahead of time.

September 28 is our Homecoming service, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the church building. Get your RSVPs in to the office so the caterer will have a head count. Let's make this a joyful and welcoming celebration for all!

Looking ahead to October (dates are subject to change):

October 5 Elder's meeting.

October 12 Mike and Bertha's wedding will take place after the worship service, followed by a potluck reception in the fellowship hall.

October 17-18 (Friday and Saturday) are tentatively the dates for our fall rummage sale. Gather your items, but please don't bring them to the church until after the wedding on the 12th.

October 19 Board meeting. New officers will begin their duties for the year.

October 29 (Wednesday) is the tentative date for the Fall Festival in place of Faith Quest and Bible study. Bring the kids in costume for trunk or treat, food, and games. The annual Cake Auction will be held afterward.
