We have worked so long to prepare for the 2025 Homecoming service and celebration, this Sunday, September 28th, that we've barely had a chance to think of what comes after. Let's all work together to make October a great one at FCC!
October begins the liturgical year with new officers on our Board of Directors. They are:
Patty Crawford, chairman
Elaine Wilson, vice chairman
Roseanne Morris, secretary
Ruth Howard, treasurer
We are certain they will do a wonderful job.
The week after Homecoming, we will need volunteers to clean up the fellowship hall, dismantle the museum, and put everything back in its normal place.
October 5 Elder's meeting.
October 12 Mike and Bertha's wedding will take place after the worship service, followed by a potluck reception in the fellowship hall. Bring food and your best wishes for the newlyweds!
October 15 is Faith Quest's annual visit to the pumpkin patch! See Hilary for details.
October 17-18 (Friday and Saturday) was to be the dates for our fall rummage sale, but that has been postponed until November 7th and 8th. However, it is time to sort your donations and bring them to the church.
October 19 Board meeting. New officers will begin their duties for the year.
October 22- no Faith Quest or Bible Study due to fall break.
October 29 (Wednesday) is the date for our Fall Festival in place of Faith Quest and Bible study. Bring the kids in costume for trunk or treat, food, and games. The annual Cake Auction will be held afterward.
Looking ahead to November:
November 2 is our All Saint's Day. We will recognize those who have gone into heaven over the past year. Let the office know to ensure your loved one is included.
November 17-24 is collection week for Operation Christmas Child. Hilary will be scheduling packing dates, so be sure to bring your contributions, whether of cash or things to pack, in time to get them ready.
Other than that, November is a time to plan and prepare our many Christmas celebrations, including the Christmas organ concert, the Christmas craft bazaar and luncheon, the hanging of the greens, Advent services, the ladies' Christmas party, the church Christmas dinner and children's play, and the Christmas Eve candlelight service.
