What's Happening in November at FCC
November 2 is the date that Daylight Saving Time ends. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour Saturday night before you go to sleep, or else you will be an hour early for church! This is not as problematic as being an hour late, as can happen in the spring, but you may as well sleep a little later. November 2 is also All Saint's Day at FCC. This is a day set aside to honor those who have passed on over the past year. Make sure your family members and friends are incl

Don't Miss the FCC Fall Festival!
Don't you just love autumn? There's so many ways to enjoy it! One of them is our annual Fall Festival. This year's festivities will take place Wednesday evening, October 29th, beginning at 5:30 PM. Bring the kids in costume so they can visit decorated cars in our parking lot for trunk-or-treat, and collect candy from each of them! Afterward, they will enjoy a top-your-own hotdog bar with chips and drinks in our picnic area, and then proceed to the cupcake walk for dessert! Th

Sermon: The Resurrection Difference
Pastor Tibbs' sermon for October 12 is titled The Resurrection Difference. It is based on 1 Corinthians 15: 12-20. 12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, your faith also is in vain. 15 Moreover, we are even found to be false w

Sermon: The Resurrection Documented
Pastor Tibbs' sermon for October 12 is titled The Resurrection Documented. It is based on 1 Corinthians 15: 1-11 . 15 Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, 2 by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 3 For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins accord

Rummage Sale Time at FCC!
The next rummage sale at FCC has been postponed from October to November. It will be held on Friday November 7 and Saturday November 8th from 9AM to 4PM each day. That gives us plenty of time to assemble a great variety of things to sell! A rummage sale benefits everyone in several ways. 1. It's a chance to get rid of stuff around the house you don't need anymore, without the guilt of wastefulness or adding to a landfill. It will make your home feel bigger and lighter! 2. I

FCC History: 1920-1942
In 1920, the FCC congregation secured a lot on Kentucky Street for a much larger church. The building committee consisted of H. E. Everman, Mrs. J. A. Gilliam, James T. Nelson, and S. L. Wilburn. They were joined by pastor A. W. Rethemeyer when he began leading the church in 1922. This committee bought the lot and oversaw building plans and construction with no disputes among them on any decision. The congregation made pledges and raised funds for the construction. From 1921
