In Gratitude

My goodness, this year has been a whirlwind. I am reminded of what Pastor James told his church at Jerusalem. "Put not your trust in tomorrow, for you know not what a day will bring." If ever that has been driven home in my family personally, it has certainly been with the advent of this new year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the church family for your copious prayers and various acts of love and care for both Deb and myself. At a time when I have been at a point of physical and spiritual exhaustion, much like Aaron and Hur lifting up the weary hands of Moses, words fail me in being able to express the thankfulness I have experienced from the church family lifting up the hands of their pastor in prayers, cards, and acts of encouragement. Also I am so grateful for Pastors John Gill and Ronnie Mitchell for filling in on Sunday and Ash Wednesday, when I was with Deb in the hospital.
Although Deb has a long, long road ahead of her in rehab, we are so appreciative of the wonderful care Deb has received at Laurel Heights. Their wonderful culture of compassion and care has been exemplary. This has given me a chance to renew my pastoral studies, and by God's grace I am planning to continue our Wednesday night study in Romans beginning on March 11. Hope to see you then and on Sunday as we continue our series on the Shadows of Christ through the Lent season.
Love in Christ,
Pastor Bob and Deb
