Wonderful Opportunities

As we enter into the fall semester here at First Christian, I want to share with you some wonderful opportunities that we will be experiencing. We are going to begin this season with our very own September to remember! During the Sunday school hour on September 14th, I am going to be offering a pastor's class that has the opportunity to be transformative in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This class will involve a video series by a man who has, in any ways, shaped my personal walk with Jesus. His name is Henry Blackaby. The series deals with how to deepen your personal walk with God, and how to have an increased awareness of God's presence, direction, and will for your life. It is a series of classes that will take us to Christmas. So, if you are usually not with us for the 9:30 Sunday school hour, I believe you will find that this will be well worth being with us an hour earlier at 9:30.
We are also going to be continuing on September 17th with our Wednesday night study of the book of Romans. We are currently in the doctrinal part of Roans (chapters 1-18), with the doctrinal section of Romans being divided up into three parts:
The doctrine of Sin (chapters 1:1 to 3:24)
The doctrine of Salvation (chapters 3:24 to 5:21)
The doctrine of Sanctification (chapters 5:22 to 8:39)
As we begin chapter three of Romans on September 17, we will be finishing up our study of the nature of sin and will be spending the rest of this year studying the wonders of our salvation and the wonders of what took place when Christ vicariously died for you upon the cross.
Our pinnacle event will be on September 28 as we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of our current church facilities. On this Sunday, we will be having a celebration of the life and legacy of First Christian Church. This will be a Sunday when we hope to have a full church as we thank God for the pastors, flock, and current church plant that we call the First Christian Church of Corbin. Hope to see you there!
Agape,
Pastor Bob
