After our wonderful centennial service, in this afterglow moment, I would like to take a moment as your pastor to thank so many of our members for your sacrifice and work leading up to a noteworthy, epic service in the history of our church. Wow, where do we start? Our Lord's sanctuary was stunning as you walked up (in the new carpeted stairs) or took the elevator to enter in and as you immediately walked into the sanctuary, you sensed the presence of God!

The Buttermore lounge and the choir room were so very well set up, giving everyone a sense of hush and piety as we were stepping back into our church history. This certainly set the mood for our screen presentation as we took the history of our church through the ages. As we lifted up that legacy that we received from the generation of our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. It was very fitting out of our respect and love to them that we lifted up their sacrifice to our Lord in a pastoral prayer of thanksgiving and also by the way of praise through the trilogy of praise music, which proclaimed the holiness of God. Also (we have to bring it up!) what a thrill to have our pipe organ back (in all of her 1930s splendor) as the sanctuary was full of the praises of our Lord's church, as we exalted the name of Jesus together! Then, just as with the early church, we afterward enjoyed the fellowship with each other in the fellowship hall that was dressed in a pageantry of white that was so fitting of the wonderful Sunday. Let me say it again, WOW!

Beloved, may this experience be a springboard for our continued sensitivity to the opportunities that God brings across our paths, as we go out and about in our community proclaiming the greatness of our living God and encourage others to join with us to worship Him at First Christian!
